Valentine's Day Writing

Julina sat at her usual table at school, alone and single on Valentine's Day for the second year running.  No one asked her out, although she was stunningly pretty with her long dark hair and her shimmering green eyes; no guy ever had asked her out.  So there she sat, alone at her table, waiting for her friend Jude to arrive.  Jude was her best friend and spent every Valentine's Day with her that she could ever imagine.  She saw Jude arrive through the school doors, with her semi-curly/wavy deep chestnut hair and her deep blue eyes.   She had her bag slung over her shoulder and her headphones in her ears as normal, Typical Jude, she thought.

"Hey Jude, Happy Valentine's Day," Julina said in her fake cheery voice.

"Happy SAINT Valentine's Day," Jude spoke correcting her once again.

"Grammar Nazi, why do you always have to correct me, and on Valentine's Day no doubt."

"It's Saint Valentine's Day because Saint Valentine—" Jude started as Julina stared into space trying to ignore yet another lesson from her matter of fact friend, who corrected her on everything.

Once she finished Julina spoke," that's LEGIT."  Jude gave her that menacing stare that made her think twice,"—imate."

"There you go" Jude replied with that tone of accomplishment in her voice.

"Anyway, I guess we're both single on Valentine's Day again." Julina sighed
unhappily.  The boy she was desperately in love with was being a jerk again and they'd gotten into a fight a couple nights ago, and she was still frustrated.

"Oh well," Jude huffed," maybe we'll go find something to do today."

"Are you a Hufflepuff?  Because they're particularly good finders."

"What the HELL  is a Hufflepuff?" Jude asked just before they burst into laughter.  They'd been best friends for a long time and making AVPM references was one of their favourite pastimes.  Julina caught her breath and looked at Jude happily, knowing not what to expect of the day but heartbreak, laughter, and some single fun with her best friend.
