Clary woke up to the booming snores of Jace, he was lying next to her sound asleep. His arm was wrapped around her torso, holding her close to him. Clary moved her head up from where it was resting on Jace's chest, looking up at his face; it had that look of serenity; with his wispy blonde hair hiding his forehead, and his cheekbones stood out making him look like a model of sorts. Not the misguided shadowhunter that had faced the tragedies and lies of life; and he looked gorgeous to Clary. She dropped her head back onto his chest and moved closers towards him as she could feel the warmth of his breath on her forehead. This moment was perfect to Clary, nothing could ruin how she felt about him, not anymore. Clary felt Jace's arm tighten around her, bringing her closer to him.
"Clary?" he whispered groggily
"Yes?" Clary mutter
"How long have you been awake?"
"Long enough to want you t"
"You'll always want me," Jace interrupted Clary midsentence, smirking at her playfully.
"There's that conceited arrogance I love," Clary responded, then her face hardened," Jace, I need to tell you something."
"What's wrong Clary?" he spoke as he sat up and moved her away from him so he could see her face; it looked worried, sad even, but Jace saw an amount of happiness that might make up for everything.
"Promise you won't freak out?" she asked hopefully
"Clary," he started," you have my word as a shadowhunter." But Clary just sat there, waiting for something; hoping someone would burst in and disrupt him, anything would be better than this.
"Jace," she started hesitantly," I'm pregnant." Jace's eyes widened with shock.
"You're going to be a father." She clarified, he sat there for moments wondering what he could do to make her happy, but only one word came out.
